Deodato - Prelude

In 1973, Deodato's disco/funk arrangement of "Also Sprach Zarathustra," well known in its symphonic form as the theme to Stanley Kubrik's 1968 film 2001, became CTI's biggest-ever hit. The song reached the popular Top 10, sold many records and set many musical trends for years thereafter. As a result, the album which spawned the hit, Prelude, has been kept almost constantly in print in a variety of variations.
