 NEWS . . .

FINALLY: JAZZ RAGA gets its first-ever CD release in a stunning package from Light in the Attic Records with a beautiful gatefold digipak sleeve featuring a 40-page color booklet that includes unseen photos (courtesy of John Szabo), interviews with Bernard "Pretty" Purdie, Rudy Van Gelder, Jack Gregg and Michael Shrieve and brilliant liner notes by Doug Sheppard.

PLUS: Gabor Szabo's "Mizrab," from the 1967 album THE SORCERER, serves as the main title theme for Zsombor Dyga's 2010 feature film KÖNTÖRFALAK (aka QUESTION IN DETAILS). The trailer with music is available here.

GABOR SZABO was one of the most original jazz guitarists to emerge in the 1960s. Mixing his Hungarian folk music heritage with a deep love of jazz, he crafted a most unusual, largely self-taught sound. This site is dedicated to Gabor Szabo's jazz journey and  musical legacy. Questions?  Comments? Feel free to write me.
