CTI Picture Sleeve Singles (45s) -

> 3 In the 1970s, during CTI Records' heyday, 45-RPM records with picture sleeves were an added bonus of buying a single. For the manufacturer, records with picture sleeves stood out in the pack of the many other 45s being sold. For the buyer, a picture sleeve made the record more desirable, more collectable. Oddly, there were very few CTI or Kudu 45-RPM singles issued with picture sleeves. In the United States, only Deodato (who scored the label's largest hit with "Also Sprach Zarathustra (2001)") and David Matthews were accorded with 45-RPM picture sleeve status. However, CTI 45 picture sleeves could be seen in other countries, particularly throughout Europe. Here is a sampling. |
